Worldwide Demonstrations in Solidarity with Chemical Attack Victims

In light of the recent assault that took the lives of more one thousand people in eastern Damascus countryside, all of whom are victims of a chemical gas attack conducted by regime forces, activists and Syrian campaigners organized on Wednesday a number of demonstrations worlwide in solidarity with the Syrian people in attempt to protest the international community's lack of action towards the ongoing 2 years-old crisis and raise awareness regarding the gravity of the situation.

The rallies have been held in several major cities across Europe including Stockholm,London,Paris and Hanover. In addition to other protests in Beirut and Amman.

Locally, people across the liberated territories held demonstrations in solidarity with their fellow Syrians in Ghouta, raising banners that criticized the US' paradoxical policies regarding the regime's constant international law abuses in Yabroud,Bennish,Aleppo, Raqqa and Salamiyeh.

Additionally, Syrian refugees in the Jordanian camp of Za'atari protested the Ghouta chemical attack by holding a demonstration to express their solidarity with their nationals.

The hashtag #CWMassacre has also been promoted by activists to raise awareness via social media.

Calls of Distress Emerge From Eastern Ghouta

Activist Razan Zaitouna and The Violation Documentation Center in Syria along with other opposition organizations are sending distress calls reaching out to people who have access to Damascus eastern countryside to head towards hospitals and donate blood and medical supplies as the aftermath of the chemical gas attack is apparently devastating and the death toll is rumored to have risen to more than 20 civilians.

BREAKING: Five Confirmed Deaths as Result of Ghouta Chemical Attack

A private source told Al-Ayyam Shabab Souria that five of the chemical attack victims in Ghouta, who have been hopspitalize to Douma's makeshfit clinics, died as soon as they arrived to the city. The source also mentioned that the majority of the cases being received in Douma are women,children and elderly citizens.

Several eyewitness accounts now confirm that chemical gas emissions resulting from the chemical attack that targeted Zamalka, Ein Tarma, and Jobar has reached most of the eastern Damascus Countryside's cities and towns, with several reports claiming that residents are displaying symptoms of chemical exposure. The large scale chemical attack has left dozens dead and hundreds injured, with activists reporting that a state of mass panic sweeping the Eastern Ghouta.

After Zamalka, Ein Tarma and Jobar Targeted with Chemical Weapons

New reports now claim that both the eastern Damascus countryside town of Ein Tarma and the adjacent Damascene neighborhood of Jobar have suffered regime shelling with chemical weapons, shortly after similar reports claimed that the nearby city of Zamalka was targeted with missiles equipped with chemical warheads. Activists also reported that these fresh rounds of chemical attacks have left 5 dead and dozens injured, among them are women and children. Field hospitals, most of them overcrowded and understaffed, are also struggling to treat those injured with limited medical supplies, including a shortage of Oxygen tanks to alleviate symptoms of suffocation.

Zamalka Chemical Attack Leaves Scores Dead, Dozens Injured

Activists are now reporting that the chemical attack that targeted Al-Zaynayeh in Zamalka has left scores dead. This marks the 3rd time tha the Assad regime has shelled the eastern Damascus Countryside city with missiles equipped with chemical warheads.
No exact number of casualties has been provided by activists yet, but the attack has also left dozens injured, with symptoms ranging from blurred vision and breathlessness to suffocation.
